Two Bursaries from
Stenden South Africa

Stenden has graciously awarded 2 full Busaries to PAGDF which its Members can apply for post the Foundation. Stenden South Africa is an international campus of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands with over 350 students and 90 employees that provides a Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality Management, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Disaster Relief Management and a variety of minor specialisations for NHL Stenden University students and other partner universities across the World. The hotel management school enjoys benchmark status in the African continent with a graduate employment rate of over 96%. Stenden South Africa also manages the prize-winning Stenden MyPond Hotel to expose its students to a Real World environment. The foundation manages the Port Alfred Driving Range to provide a safe space for our youth.

The foundation facilitates fundraising, sponsorship and donations for equipment for young golfers.

The foundation engages with local clubs to create access to golf courses and membership.

The foundation facilitates access and transport for young golfers to engage in competitions.

Life Skills

Life Skills

The foundation seeks to take a holistic approach to teach life skills and facilitate access to good education. By stimulating and monitoring active participation in education, the foundation seeks to improve the opportunities of participating youth. The Foundation will also engage with the school Teachers of each Member to enquire about school attendance and performance thus ensuring monitoring of their performance at school.

Coach & Mentoring

Coach & Mentoring

The foundation facilitates coaching for young golfers and seeks to connect youth with golfers of all ages to provide mentoring. This can take shape in pairing youth in a fourball during golf competitions and through its relationships with local clubs to stimulate interested members to engage with youth as a mentors.

Criteria for Joining

Be nominated for membership by the Coach, and be recommended by at least two Directors of the PAGDF.

Undertake to abide by the Constitution, Code of Conduct and General Operational Rules of the Foundation.

Complete an induction programme. Membership will not be unreasonably denied, however space is limited.

 

Post Foundation

Once a youth turns 19 years of age and leave the Foundation, a concerted effort will be made to continue to monitor, his/her progress in education, work and Golf. The Foundation will establish a database of all Alumni and create a platform for Alumni to contribute to youth development and be productive members of society.
