Dr Wouter Hensens is the Executive Dean of Stenden South Africa, an international campus of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. He carries a BBA in International Hospitality Management, a Masters of Arts in Leisure and Tourism Studies and a PhD in Business Management.

Dr Wouter Hensens is the Executive Dean of Stenden South Africa, an international campus of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. He carries a BBA in International Hospitality Management, a Masters of Arts in Leisure and Tourism Studies and a PhD in Business Management.
Wouter took on the role of Dean at the Stenden South Africa campus in 2007 and has witnessed a substantial growth of the campus in both size and reputation. He has not only developed the campus into a serious role player its community and industry but has also led a transformation to develop Stenden South Africa into what today is one of the more diverse institutions in South Africa.
He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Tourism Educators South Africa, Vice Chairman of the Sunshine Coast Tourism Board, and Vice Chairman of the Governing Body of Port Alfred High School. Following his doctoral studies in 2011 in which he explored the influence of Social Media on conventional hotel rating systems, he has advised on the enhancement of different hotel rating systems in Sharjah, Bahrain, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi. He further works closely with leading Online Reputation Management companies including Olery.com and Guestrevu.com.
Wouter lives in Port Alfred with his wife Marin, and children, Alec (10) and Lana (12). In his free time, he enjoys reading and playing golf and takes a particular interest in Community Development. Together with Colin Mavuso he started the Port Alfred Driving Range in 2016 which has grown into a well visited place for disadvantaged youth to be introduced to the sport of golf.
