In 1969 I was introduced to golf was by chance. On my way home from school, a bakkie picked a few friends and I up and took us to the Golf Course. I started caddying for a left-handed golfer who became my Boss for many years whilst I was caddying to earn some money and provide for my family. I didn’t drink or smoke as I didn’t want to waste money and be shouted at by my Grandmother for doing so.
In 1977 I left Port Alfred to find work in Port Elizabeth so I could build my Grandmother a house, which unfortunately never happened. I struggled to find work so ended up coming back to Port Alfred to start a driving range. Growing up in such a way made me determined to help all the kids that are less fortunate and give them hope. That no matter what, life can be enjoyed to the fullest.
God gave me a gift and I want to make sure that when I am no longer on this beautiful earth, I’ll be remembered for the good I have done in my life. I promised my Grandmother I would never leave her again and I know that she is watching over me from Heaven.
In life, we must work hard to achieve whatever our hearts desire.
My moto in life is simple…… DREAM BIG & STAY SAFE!
